These three songs were a collaboration between pianist and poet Esther Knight and pianist and composer Donal McHugh. Esther wrote the three poems which Donal set to music. The poems were inspired by experiences in the wild on some of the islands of Scotland. Both the text and music capture the colours and atmospheres of these special places as well as delving into the thoughts and emotions that were conjured as a result of the time spent on these beautiful and sometimes haunting islands.

They were composed with a soprano voice in mind.
